Independent Medical Examinations
Independent Psychological Evaluations (IME)
Objective. Defensible. Clinically Sound.
Acumen Psychological Services PLLC provides independent psychological evaluations for veterans, legal, insurance, and occupational cases. Our assessments are thorough, impartial, and grounded in current clinical standards—delivering clear, defensible opinions you can rely on.
What Is an Independent Medical Examination (IME)?
An IME is a neutral, third-party psychological evaluation conducted to assess an individual’s mental health status in relation to a specific legal or administrative question.
Unlike treatment providers, our role is strictly evaluative. We do not provide therapy or ongoing care in these cases—ensuring objectivity and professional independence.
When Are IMEs Needed?
We provide evaluations across a range of contexts, including:
- Personal Injury & Civil Litigation
- Workers’ Compensation Claims
- Disability & Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations
- Veterans & Military-Related Psychological Claims
- Employment & Workplace Disputes
- Independent Review of Prior Psychological Findings
